PROSTATE CANCER DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENTS
The prostate gland is only found in men, it’s main job is to help make semen – the fluid that carries sperm. The prostate is usually the size and shape of a walnut and grows bigger as you get older. It sits underneath the bladder and surrounds the urethra – the tube men urinate (pee) and ejaculate through.

A prostate biopsy involves taking small samples (biopsies) of tissue from your prostate gland. The samples are then sent to be examined under a microscope by a specialist.
FOCUSED BRACHYTHERAPY
Brachytherapy is an advanced cancer treatment where tiny radioactive seeds (or sources) are placed in or near the cancerous tissue

ROBOTIC PROSTATECTOMY
Robotic-assisted surgery is keyhole surgery that uses robotic arms (the daVinci® robotic system) to help your surgeon during the operation.
HOLMIUM LASER ENUCLEATION OF THE PROSTATE (HOLEP)
HoLEP is a minimally invasive procedure that removes tissue from your prostate that is causing obstruction.

Rezum is a minimally invasive procedure which uses steam to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
PROSTATE ARTERY EMBOLISATION
PAE is a non-surgical way of treating an enlarged and troublesome prostate by blocking off the arteries that feed the gland and making it shrink. It is performed by an interventional radiologist.

FIDUCIAL PLACEMENT
Fiducial markers are tiny metal objects (about the size of a grain of rice) that allow your doctors to line up the beams of radiation to make sure that your radiation therapy is delivered exactly the same way and in the same place each time. This helps them to target the tumor and avoid your healthy tissue.
